Severe cases of anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa typically require inpatient care. However, when intensive treatment is not indicated, Remuda Ranch offers the Remuda Life Program (RLP). RLP is located on a quiet gated cul de sac in Chandler, Arizona.
Women and girls come to RLP directly from home when outpatient therapy isn’t achieving the desired results. The time spent in our residential care program, with consistent individual and group therapy, often proves exactly what they need for true recovery.
Other residents admit after receiving inpatient care. Many times returning directly home proves too difficult on both the patient and the family. The challenge of facing the real world immediately can cause tremendous stress on the family and result in unwanted relapse. At RLP, women and adolescent girls receive ongoing care in a less-structured environment.
Residents live together in homes, have daily responsibilities and get involved in part-time work, volunteer projects or school. They meet regularly with their therapist and take part in many groups.
In addition to residential care, RLP offers the Independent Living program. This is less structured and more like real life. Women live in apartments away from the cul de sac, yet remain involved with the Remuda Ranch staff. Independent Living gives residents one more opportunity to practice their skills and gain confidence before returning home.
